ArtHouse Jersey is delighted to announce the next in their series of live online drawing
classes, ‘Nude Life Drawing guided by artist Jason Butler’, a first ever for Jersey. The
class, which takes place on Friday 18 September at 7pm via the video conferencing
platform Zoom, will feature a 90 minute sitting by a male model and will see
Internationally renowned artist from Jersey Jason Butler guide participants through a
number of poses while offering practical advice on the art of figurative drawing.

The human form holds an element of intrigue for most people with the body being the
focus of artistic expression throughout history. This is a fantastic opportunity for people
from all walks of life to try something new in a relaxed and non-pressured format.

We’re wholeheartedly encouraging group bookings, where a crew of friends or
colleagues can come together and enjoy this first-ever-for-Jersey experience with a
smile. All being well this will be the first of four sessions on a similar theme that we will
be offering in the coming months.

Artist Jason Butler was temporarily lured out of teaching retirement by ArtHouse Jersey
earlier this year, with this being the second class he has hosted in their live online
drawing series. In recent years Jason’s primary focus has been on producing abstract
paintings, though he is an acclaimed portrait artist with work previously being exhibited
at the National Portrait Gallery.

Director of ArtHouse Jersey Tom Dingle said “It’s great to be able to offer this kind of
enjoyable class to people in Jersey and further afield. We wanted to ride on the success
of our previous online classes with something a little different for everyone, regardless of
their artistic abilities, something new, interesting and hopefully a lot of fun! Jason Butler
is absolutely the right person to host this class, guiding us all through the experience,
offering a little light relief while we perhaps pick up a skill or two along the way!”
