Cake & Cabaret returns to bring joy and connection to Jersey’s older Islanders
ArtHouse Jersey is delighted to return this week with Cake & Cabaret, the much-loved community arts series that brings joy, connection, and high-quality entertainment to elderly parishioners across the Island. Following the success of previous editions, the 2025 programme introduces an enhanced touring model that deepens community impact while staying true to the project’s original mission.
Running through to Wednesday 10 December 2025, Cake & Cabaret is once again touring parish halls across Jersey with a specially curated festive production designed to lift spirits during the darker months of the year.

This year’s programme is supported by the Jersey Freemasons, whose longstanding commitment to empowering communities and supporting vulnerable Islanders aligns closely with the aims of Cake & Cabaret. Their support ensures the project remains free, accessible, and delivered at a scale that reaches those who benefit most.
A project built for community wellbeing
Cake & Cabaret was created to celebrate Jersey’s older residents, reduce isolation, and animate parish halls as vibrant social hubs. With many elderly Islanders facing barriers to travel, entertainment, and social connection, the programme meets parishioners where they are, transforming familiar community spaces into intimate cabaret lounges filled with warmth, laughter, and companionship.
In 2025, the series will engage up to 600 elderly parishioners across ten shows, offering more than 1,200 hours of community engagement. Each event builds space for social connection, storytelling, shared joy, and of course, plenty of tea and cake.
A festive tour led by two Jersey-born stars
This year’s edition features internationally acclaimed performers with deep Jersey roots; Georgi Mottram, the no.1 classical chart-topping soprano whose career has taken her from Broadway to the Proms, and Dr Adam Perchard, an international cabaret icon who has performed on stages from the London Coliseum to the National Theatre and Channel 4.
Together, this glittering duo invites you to lean into the dazzle and drama this Christmas. High camp meets high emotion in a sparkling banquet of festive favourites drawn from opera, musical theatre, and film. Expect showstoppers from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, all delivered with their characteristic warmth, wit, and theatrical brilliance.

Jersey Freemasons support community togetherness
The Jersey Freemasons have come on board as supporters of the 2025 series, helping ensure that Cake & Cabaret continues to grow in reach and impact. Their long-standing commitment to supporting Jersey’s most vulnerable residents makes this partnership a natural and meaningful fit.
Their support enables the programme to remain completely free for parishioners, while ensuring its delivery across multiple parishes so that more older Islanders can take part. It also strengthens accessibility measures — including support for those with mobility challenges — and allows continued investment in high-quality performers and community-focused programming. ArtHouse Jersey warmly acknowledges the Jersey Freemasons for helping bring this year’s celebratory tour to life.
Director of ArtHouse Jersey, Tom Dingle, said “Cake & Cabaret is one of our most joyful and meaningful projects, created to honour our older Islanders and bring people together in the heart of their own parishes. Each year we see how much these moments of music, laughter, and companionship can lift spirits and strengthen community bonds. Thanks to the generous and wholehearted support of the Jersey Freemasons, we’re able to grow the programme even further this year and ensure it remains free and accessible to those who benefit most. We’re incredibly grateful for their commitment to helping us share more creativity, warmth, and connection with communities across the Island.”
Tim Dallas-Chapman of Jersey Freemasons said “We are proud to support a programme that so directly enriches the lives of older people in Jersey. Cake & Cabaret embodies the community values we stand for, friendship,. warmth, inclusion, and companionship”.
