New Work Programme sponsored by Coutts Crown Dependencies

Coutts Crown Dependencies proudly sponsor ArtHouse Jersey’s New Work Programme, a strand of work that supports ambitious new artistic ideas at the earliest, highest-leverage stage of development. The New Work Programme exists to give those early concepts the resource, mentorship and producing muscle they need to become viable public works. Support is tailored, and can include financial backing, artistic and professional mentoring, hands-on producing, introductions to relevant networks, residencies, development and rehearsal space, and a critical outside eye at any stage of the journey.

It’s no secret that even the biggest and best initiatives come from small beginnings. Bestselling novels, hit TV shows, world-class theatre productions, they were all once just an idea, and a work in progress that was given a chance to succeed. ArtHouse Jersey champions these small beginnings, recognising that with the right support, ideas can grow and projects can truly come to life.

Through the New Work Programme, our team of producers, curators and creators provide bespoke guidance to a variety of projects where we identify the potential for new cutting-edge art. Support can include artistic and professional mentoring,  financial investment, hands-on producing, residencies, introductions to relevant artists and networks, development and rehearsal space, and a critical eye - offered at any stage of the journey where it’s needed.

In 2025, we were delighted to support Wayne Stewart perform at the Edinburgh Fringe with his production of Chrome Yellow. As we look ahead to future opportunities for the show, we also recognise the journey of hard work, dedication, and creativity that made reaching this stage possible.

Another exciting project in development is a cabaret-style comedic musical about gay vampires, Glampires!, by Dr Adam Perchard. Residencies, reading (and singing) rooms and producing support in 2025 have helped shape this project to be in the position to present a London industry showcase in 2026.

Ambitious ideas in the works? A Jersey opera, music residencies, skills-sharing collaborations and one-person shows are just a few of the projects we’re supporting through our New Work Programme and wider initiatives in 2026.

Sponsorship by Coutts Crown Dependencies and their shared belief in the New Work Programme have been instrumental in planning ahead and investing in these projects for the future. Gifts and donations to the charity are essential in allowing us to deliver all areas of our programme, and we’re truly grateful for any and all support we receive.

Jersey has no shortage of creative talent and ambitious ideas. Where we support these projects, we can develop art that inspires audiences both on and off Jersey, that's locally rooted and globally connected.
