Sophia Bourne is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans visual art, poetry, movement, and sound. Her work invites space for reflection and contemplation, drawing continual inspiration from the cycles and rhythms of the natural world, alongside her studies in somatics. In this exhibition she will be showcasing a blend of visual art, poetic text and movement-art, as well as a new poetry pamphlet that she is developing supported by an ArtHouse Jersey Development Grant.
Francesca Warner studied for a BSc degree in social anthropology and undertook an art foundation year at Wimbledon School of Art where she specialised in ceramics. She will be showcasing plein air soft pastel drawings from hedgerows and fields in Jersey, including close-up drawing 'snapshots' of plants in varying growth periods and light. She is drawn to looking at plants in a new way and noting how everything from the stars to the plants, trees and insects are connected.
