Training and job purpose
ArtHouse Jersey seeks to make a positive impact on our Island community through the arts. Our education programme plays a key role for our charity and we are looking for Artist Educators to join our programme.
Working in partnership with the Government of Jersey, together we are launching Making Art Partnerships in Schools - Part 5, a training and educational programme with artists and teachers working in collaboration to enhance the delivery and provision for art in schools. Each artist will be partnered with a school and will be supported through a facilitated training programme. This is a great opportunity for Artists to gain experience, support and confidence to work within an educational setting. For more experienced Artist educators it is an opportunity to develop existing skills.
The project commences with 3 training days during the summer and early autumn and a gallery visit. The artist and teacher will then work in partnership to develop a bespoke project with their allocated school. The aim of this project is:
● To build a partnership between professional artists in Jersey and local schools; ● To provide Continued Professional Development through training opportunities for artists and teachers;
● To ensure that pupils will receive an enhanced level of provision in art lessons through collaboration between teachers and artists;
● To develop an approach that will be unique in each school, based on a jointly planned creative art project, which will align directly with the school’s own curriculum;
● To achieve excellent outcomes for every pupil.
