ArtHouse Jersey launches Roaming Soundtrack photo competition

WIN A BESPOKE, PRIVATE PERFORMANCE BY AN AMAZING MUSICIAN AT A SPECIAL LOCATION WITH COCKTAILS & NIBBLES FOR UP TO 10 PEOPLE

ArtHouse Jersey is inviting Islanders to take part in their ‘Roaming Soundtrack Photo Competition’ which runs from now until midnight on Wednesday 16 June 2021. You are invited to share your own photographic moment while out and about enjoying the playlist at the seven featured Jersey locations.

The photo could be a selfie, a landscape or even an abstract close up of something you come across out on the trail - anything goes! The prize for best photo is a bespoke, private performance by a fantastic musician at a special location, accompanied by cocktails and nibbles for up to ten people.

Roaming Soundtrack, which is curated by former Radio 1 DJ and festival honcho Rob da Bank, saw seven internationally renowned music acts each write a track in response to seven unique Jersey locations. At each location there is a listening post with a QR code, which when scanned will bring the associated music straight into the ears of the user so that they can enjoy the space in a fresh, auditory way. Given the narrow nature of Crack Ankle Lane the listening post for this piece of music can be found near Wheatlands Hotel.

Musicians commissioned for the project include Groove Armada, Nitin Sawhney CBE, Hiatus, Kate Stables (This is The Kit), Andrea Belfi, Sarah Keirle and Sam Lee. By way of inspiration, the artists were provided with pictures taken by local skilled photographers including Danny Evans, Natalie Mayer, Danny Richardson, Will Lakeman, Lucy Le Lievre, Rebecca Coley & Anthony Cumming. Artist Danny Booth provided a VR image of his La Ruette a la Vioge, better known as Crack Ankle Lane.

People in Jersey can enter the competition by uploading their shot to social media using the hashtag #roamingsoundtrack and tagging @ArtHouseJersey on FB, Twitter or Instagram.

Deadline for submissions is MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY 16 JUNE with the winner announced on Facebook and Instagram at 3pm on Friday 18 June 2021. To explore the music, images and site map in full visit www.roamingsoundtrack.co
