Development Grants awarded for an exciting range of art projects in final funding round of 2025

We are delighted to announce some of the successful artists that have been awarded funding in the final round of our Development Grants for 2025. It has been a wonderful year for Development Grant beneficiaries with £55,000 being allocated to local artists. The quarterly funding initiative offers financial assistance for artists working in any discipline to support the creation of new work or for the development of their creative process. The next deadline for applications is 1 February 2026 and the guidelines and application form can be found here.
Milly Warner – Design residency at the ZK/U (Centre for Art and Urbanistics) Berlin
Mily Warner is a multidisciplinary researcher and designer working in the intersection of urban design and anthropology. Her practice includes working as a writer, researcher, urban designer, community practitioner and engagement specialist. This funding will support Milly in undertaking a residency at ZK/U (Centre for Art and Urbanistics) Berlin to develop her design practice and hone her technical skills. The final artistic output could take multiple forms such as a sculpture or public installation.
Zak Langlois (Intermission) – Development of a new EP
Intermission is a local band with six members known for high energy performances of their rock/pop originals. This funding will support the recording, production and promotion of a new INTERMISSION EP of five songs which will be supported by shows in Jersey, Guernsey, Cambridge and London.
“With the support of ArtHouse Jersey we will pursue our long time ambition to record our debut EP. We are super excited to be working with industry professionals in the Channel Islands and Cambridge in bringing our creative vision to life!”
Lolly Waters – Presenting a show at the Brighton Fringe Festival 2026
Lolly Waters is a comedian and writer who has received a grant towards presenting her new show at the Brighton Fringe Festival 2026.
Barry James (The Songwriters Showcase) - Presenting a series of live music events in Liberation square
The Songwriters Showcase aims to give original music a sustainable platform in Jersey and they run monthly events showcasing different artists. They have been awarded funding towards presenting a series of public showcases at the Liberation Square Amphitheatre in summer 2026 accompanied by their new album.
"This funding will allow us to put the incredible songwriting talent that Jersey has, in front of the general public, free of charge. We will continue to enrich our culture and artistry together. Thank you ArtHouse Jersey for supporting the Showcase and the wider network of arts”.

Kelly Frost- Development of a new historical fiction novel
Kelly Frost is a traditionally-published author of historical fiction. Her work is revisionist, highly feminist, and tells narratives from the perspective of underrepresented or alternative voices. This funding will support her research and skills development for her third novel.
"Writing novels is a lonely, difficult sport, so I'm looking forward to using the ArtHouse Jersey grant to access some exceptional research libraries and archives across the UK as I work on my third novel. I've got big ambitions for this one, and I'm hoping this support will help me achieve them."
Jackie Crichton - Stage adaptation of The Book Tree by Paul Czajak
Jackie Crichton is a professional dramaturg and script editor currently based in Scotland. The key focus of her work is theatre for children and young people. With this funding she will be undertaking development workshops for her stage adaptation of ‘The Book Tree’ by Paul Czajak with a focus on visual storytelling.
“I’m delighted to have received a Development Grant from ArtHouse Jersey. The financial support will enable me and my collaborators to further explore our stage adaptation of The Book Tree and will be the crucial next step in the project’s life.”
Harry Green -Short film ‘Happy Ending’
Harry Green was one of the founders of Shorthand Films production company. He has been awarded funding towards the production, pre-production and post-production of their new comedy short film ‘Happy Ending’ about a bigoted man who becomes unexpectedly enlightened by a massage.
"This generous grant from ArtHouse Jersey will help us bring to life ‘Happy Ending’, an absurd comedy short film which explores the growing intergenerational gap in the UK, culture wars and the generations that feel left behind by progressive discourse. Myself and the team at Shorthand Films are so grateful for this support, and we look forward to getting started on production in 2026!"
Nick Baxter -Development of a new record
Nick Baxer writes and performs under the artist name Nick Hilder. He has played extensively across the UK, Europe and regularly returns to Jersey to host events. He has been awarded funding towards his new music which builds on the momentum of his self-funded EP 'how to write love letters'.
“I’m very thankful for the support from ArtHouse Jersey so I can record the next Nick Hilder record in 2026. Jersey continues to be an influence with my songwriting and I can’t wait to get in the studio. The funding will go towards a 4/5 track EP, a follow up from my first EP ‘how to write love letters’ which I recorded with Nic Dinnie in Jersey”.

Sam Walwyn - Mixing and mastering costs of a new EP
Sam Walwyn is an artist, musician, songwriter, producer and content creator. He makes guitar based rock/pop and folk/rock music with introspective lyrics covering his emotions and experiences.
"As a completely independent artist there are a lot of things you need to be juggling at the same time. With ArtHouse Jersey’s support for this next project I’ve been able to take a sigh of relief and relax into creating the best work I can”.
Rick Jones - Seven tracks of original music
Rick Jones is a singer, guitarist and songwriter who has been awarded funding to record seven tracks of original music live in a studio, videoing the process to make a streamable playlist.
“I am delighted to have been awarded a grant from ArtHouse Jersey towards creating a professionally-made live-in-studio EP – with an accompanying video playlist of the performances – in order to showcase a selection of my own songs. This will help my career beyond simply having music online, as it will make a brilliant reference point for promoters and booking agents when applying to play at UK and European festivals and venues in 2026 and beyond. I am extremely grateful for this assistance”.
Anna Rieksta – Skills development for the creation of new music
Anna Rieksta is a musician at the early stage of her artistic career and this funding will go towards singing lessons and having her music professionally recorded.
Amber Hahn- one-to-one glassblowing sessions
Amber Hahn is a visual artist, moving between glassblowing and writing, always returning to the body, silence and care. This funding will support one-to-one glassblowing sessions to continue developing skills and producing exploratory glass works.
“This Development Grant has arrived at a pivotal moment, enabling one-to-one mentoring with an experienced glassblower to refine my practice and strengthen future work to be shared with audiences”.
