Jack Hall – The Tuba and the Nightingale

In Jack’s words ‘The Tuba and The Nightingale’ is a vignette inspired by an occasion when I happened to come across a few musicians rehearsing in the upstairs room at The Blue Note Bar, St Helier. What intrigued me most was the gentleman delightfully playing his tuba – his demeanour was of utter contentment which made me slightly envious. That very night I went home and penned a note of appreciation which I gave to one of the bar staff and request he pass it on to him, I then began scribbling this tale.
