Le Montais – Black Sheets

‘Black Sheets’ is the incredibly personal and raw soliloquy that ends Lucy Abraham (Dir) and Le Montais’ 4 part ‘ZILLENNIAL’ project that began in May last year during lockdown.

A song about finding strength in one’s fragility after experiencing trauma; ‘Black Sheets’ displays a stark contrast to Lucy and Rebecca’s previous works (Your Favourite Guy, What kind of life? and Flowers).

Shot by their ever talented collaborator Will Robinson (DOP) in the cold days of February, Lucy and Rebecca’s concept focuses on the beauty within nature’s simplicity. Combining earth’s elements, the video for ‘Black Sheets’ reimagines Le Montais reaffirming a bittersweet sense of power that comes with getting over trauma.

Lucy and Rebecca are extremely grateful to the ArtHouse Jersey for offering support through their Funding for Artists Programme to continue working together and developing their craft. Upon reflection of the last year they are amazed at how much they have achieved which wouldn’t have been possible without ArtHouse Jersey’s continued support. They feel the final two music videos that were backed by the fund showcase a clear development in their abilities as creatives and look forward to seeing where these experiences will take them next.
