We are delighted to announce the successful artists who applied for our first round of Development Grants for 2026. This quarterly funding initiative offers financial assistance for local professional artists working in any discipline to support the creation of new work or for the development of their creative process. Among those in this most recent round was a range of creative projects including immersive sculpture, short films, animation, music albums and touring theater productions.

Chris Addy -  'Inside' immersive sculpture

This funding will support the preparatory research and development for the creation of an immersive sculpture titled ‘Inside'. Chirs has formed a small team of like-minded individuals to share a collective journey towards creating this installation which will combine printmaking with a sound and light composition. It will be an interpretation of the neurodivergent experience providing an insight for viewers who will enter a cuboid capsule

Bethany and Emily Cornelius are identical twin sisters and producing partners currently based in London. Emily trained and qualified as a lawyer in Jersey before moving to pursue a Film & TV career in London where she now works as a Legal & Business Affairs Executive for See-Saw Films. Bethany graduated with a Masters in Producing from the prestigious National Film & Television School and has produced award-winning shorts across animation, documentary and fiction.

This funding will facilitate the development and production of their new short film ‘Always Towards the Ocean’ directed by Rebecca Coley. This is a live-action set amid the St Ouen’s surf and skateboarding scene with a particular focus on the female perspective. The film is about twin sisters who struggle to detangle their identities when only one is accepted to their dream skateboard team.

'We are so excited to have ArtHouse Jersey’s support to help us bring our short film Always Towards the Ocean to life. Set on Jersey and shooting in Jersey with local talent and crew amongst the Island's thriving skateboarding and surf community, we are stoked to work on such an authentic and energising project both in front of and behind the camera. ArtHouse Jersey’s contribution is invaluable for us to further our artistic development by realising the vision of this proof-of-concept short, which we hope will progress into a feature set in the same world, and to provide meaningful opportunity for creatives on the Island.

Samuel Bowen (Home Movie) - Music video

Samuel Bowen (Home Movie) is a Jersey-based independent music artist who writes, records, produces, and mixes his songs. This Development Grant will enable Samuel to work with a local cinematographer to develop and deliver a music video to promote and market his new ‘Home’ EP and tell its story. The videos will be shot on location in Jersey and are designed to work both as finished artistic pieces and as a source for shorter content for social media.

"I’m so thankful to ArtHouse Jersey for supporting this project. The funding will allow me to collaborate with a local filmmaker to create a music video for my upcoming Home EP, helping me develop the visual side of my work and promote my music to wider audiences. It’s exciting to be able to create something on the Island that reflects both the music and the place it was made."
