Candice Carty Williams

Candice Carty-Williams’ debut novel Queenie has been hailed as the ‘black Bridget Jones,’ “Queenie is a highly entertaining, often very moving story about one young woman’s life as affected – in fact, almost destroyed – by her love life, with the politics of blackness permeating the pages. It is rare.”Diane Evans, The Guardian.“Carty-Williams's brilliantly brutal honesty... recalls Fleabag's ability to combine humour and quiet devastation. Queenie's misguided relationships can be rip-roaringly funny to read. They can also rip you in two.” The Telegraph
