From Jersey to Rwanda

ArtHouse Jersey is delighted to have commissioned Jersey artist and artisanal stonemason, Derek Tristram to produce a sculpture that explores and celebrates our Island’s history and relationship with Rwanda. Thanks to funding from the Government of Jersey’s External Relations Department. He has travelled to Rwanda and will be working there with local craftspeople and materials to create a sculpture that will be presented to a leading representative of the Rwandan government at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, which Rwanda is hosting later this year. This project has been funded by the Ministry of External Relations as part of their Bilateral Programme Fund, which aims to develop links with some of the Island’s most important partner jurisdictions.
