Make Your Mark by The Stoodio
14 October to 8 November at ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House
An artist takeover where everyone is invited to create. A blank canvas, yours to transform.
This autumn, you're invited to help transform ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House into one large, evolving artwork.
From Wednesday 14 October, Jersey artists Hayley Gibaut and Sophie Harris, known collectively as The Stoodio, will take over the gallery for Make Your Mark, an exhibition that will be created by the artists together with everyone who walks through its doors.
But this isn't an exhibition you'll simply come to look at. Over three weeks, visitors of all ages and abilities are invited to draw, paint, make, build, write and experiment, gradually transforming the gallery into one large collective artwork. No experience is needed, just a willingness to have a go.
Alongside the opportunity to drop in and contribute, a programme of workshops and creative sessions will explore everything from experimental painting, graffiti and cardboard sculpture to movement, sound, fabric and sensory art.
Every contribution will help shape the exhibition. As more people take part, the space will continue to change, meaning no two visits will be quite the same.
MAKE YOUR MARK - Opening Launch Night- Tuesday 13th October, 5:30pm to 7:30 pm
This won't be your usual gallery opening. Join us for a drink, meet the artists and be among the first to pick up the materials, get creative and leave your mark as we kick off three weeks of collective creativity. Every mark made on opening night will become part of an evolving artwork, added to, reimagined and transformed by everyone who visits over the following weeks.
Music: CHILLSPLIFF, David Gaspar

Make Your Mark is part of ArtHouse Jersey's New Work Programme, sponsored by Coutts Crown Dependencies.
Meet The Stoodio
At the heart of Make Your Mark are Jersey artists and long-time friends Hayley Gibaut and Sophie Harris, who share a commitment to making art accessible, social and open to experimentation.
Jersey-born Sophie is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, digital illustration and printmaking. Her work explores identity, memory, intimacy and embodied experience.
Hayley is an award-winning artist and ceramicist whose practice draws on both her Madeiran heritage and Jersey upbringing. Her work combines influences from Jersey’s floral heritage and Portuguese traditions through ceramics, tiles, sculpture, pattern and symbolism.
Together, they established The Stoodio, a community creative space developed with the support of Andium Homes and ArtHouse Jersey. Their individual artistic practices sit alongside a shared passion for encouraging people to make, experiment and connect through art.
