‘Songs from the soil’ musician residency

Regen Gathering 2026

Regen Gathering are looking for a Jersey musician to spend time working alongside a local farmer for their ‘Songs from the soil’ project which we are pleased to be supporting with an artist fee of £800. This hands on muddy and microbial micro-residency aims to provide the inspiration to develop new music rooted in the relationships formed and the stories that are unearthed

Over the past three years Regen Gathering has become a transformative event in Jersey, bringing together a range of inspiring projects, demonstrations and speakers, to help nurture a resilient and regenerative food system.

Each year Regen Gathering has had an artist in residence. This year they are moving the residency out onto the farm and the work that emerges will then be performed at the festival on the 11th or 12th September.

Acute observation of the world around us is central to both artistic practices and farming. We look forward to seeing what emerges from a period of shared observations between a musician and a farmer.

The Regen Gathering team will help match the musician with the farmer and we anticipate that the artist will spend a week on the farm. There is no fixed expectation regarding the work that is produced and shared at the festival. It can also be shared as a work in progress.
